The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in Game 7 of the NBA 2025 Finals to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy on Sunday.
League MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the scoring in front of a raucous home crowd at Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center with 29 points and 12 assists.
This is the first time the Thunder was winning since its relocation from Seattle to Oklahoma City on July 3, 2008.

The team, originally established as the Seattle SuperSonics, an expansion side that joined the NBA in 1967–68, first won the title in 1979.
In the said season, the SuperSonics, Western Conference champion, defeated the Eastern Conference topper Washington Bullets 4-1. The series was a rematch of the 1978 NBA Finals, where the Bullets had triumphed 4–3.
Dennis Johnson of the SuperSonics was named as the NBA Finals MVP, while Gus Williams of the SuperSonics was the top scorer, averaging 28.6 points per game.
While in Seattle, the SuperSonics had also qualified for the NBA playoffs 22 times, won their division six times, and advanced to three NBA Finals.
