Indian surfers Harish Prakash and Tayin Arun booked their spots in the third round of the Under-18 boys’ category at the Asian Surfing Championships 2025 in Mahabalipuram on Wednesday.
Harish managed to finish second in his heat with a score of 7.97 behind Malaysia’s Lucas Santiago (10.57). On the other hand, Tayin with a score of 9.23, came up just short Thailand’s Tinn Johnson (9.60) in his heat.
Meanwhile, the other Indian in the competition finished third in Harish’s heat with 4.94 points and booked a spot in the Repechage Round 2.
China’s Shidong Wu scored the highest points in Round 1 of the U18 Boys category with 17.34 ahead of Korean Kanoa Heejae with 13.10 points.
The competition will continue on Thursday with the Open Men Round 2, Open Women Round 2 and U18 Boys Round 2.
