The Hindu Group’s Sportstar, in partnership with global consulting firm KPMG India, is set to host PlayCom 2025: Business of Sports Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on September 12 and 13.
The two-day conclave, supported by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu Champions Foundation, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the Government of Punjab, the Government of Odisha and JK Tyre, brings together leaders from sport, business and policy to debate how India can shape the global sporting future.
Across 13 panels, the Summit is unpacking the economic, cultural and technological dimensions of sport. Sessions such as ‘India in a League of its Own: How India Shapes Global Sport’ and ‘Gameplan 2036: India’s Global Event Ambitions’ examine India’s place in the international sporting ecosystem and its aspirations to host mega-events.

Infrastructure is another key theme, with discussions on ‘Building the Arenas of Tomorrow and Stadiums Without Walls,’ which look at next-generation venues and digital-first fan engagement. The economic engine of sport is under the scanner too, from ‘Moneyball India: Where Capital Meets Competition’ and ‘Made in India: The Manufacturing Muscle to Athlete Economy – From Endorsements to Influence.’
Policy and governance form a critical part of the discussion as well. ‘Breaking down the National Sports Bill’ explores legislative reform, while ‘Sports for Jobs, Skills & Growth’ highlights sport’s potential as an employment generator.
Innovation drives several conversations: ‘Wired for Winning’ looks at AI and sports science, while ‘New Frontiers in Sports’ explores wellness, fitness and emerging markets. The social responsibility of sport comes into focus in ‘Purpose Play: CSR, Inclusion & Sport for All.’
With thought leaders, athletes and industry voices converging, PlayCom 2025 is mapping how India can harness sport as a catalyst for growth, influence and opportunity.
